Coffee Blossom Honey, an enterprise launched by importer Onyx Coffee, offers raw single origin micro-lot honeys that are produced by bees from acclaimed Guatemalan coffee producers. Because the bees feed primarily on coffee blossoms, they create delicate flavor profiles similar to those found in coffees grown in the region.
Coffee Blossom Honey highlights beekeeping as an additional source of food and income for coffee farmers as well as an effective catalyst for plant health and higher yields on working farms. The enterprise functions under an ethos attentive to farmer wellbeing by adopting a traceable buying structure and emphasizing bee education, all with the underlying goal of improving quality and pursuing sustainability holistically.

Finca El Apiaro, or Honeybee Farm, operated by the Mendez family. El Apiaro honey possesses a balanced body and aromas reminiscent of brown sugar and vanilla. Flavor notes include peach, chamomile, caramel, and orange with a light, delicate lavender finish.
Finca Insul from Letty and Lorena Anzueto who are both leaders in the Huehuetenango region and are representative of the growing number of female farmers and coffee producers in Guatemala. Their micro-lot honey presents a velvety body with peach aromas accompanied by sweet tropical fruit, apricot, orange blossom, and pear flavor notes.
Finca La Esperanza from Otto Herrera, a third generation coffee producer. His family’s coffee producing heritage, with due attention to quality and innovation, shines through in La Esperanza honey. La Esperanza’s complex profile contains a floral and citrusy aroma. Red apple, kiwi, and jasmine flavors are followed by a warm cinnamon and lemonade-like finish. Its creamy, buttery mouthfeel make it one of our favorites.
