Our relationship with Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (Environmental Fortress Farm) in Brazil dates back to our first days in roasting. We were exploring FAF and the Croce family farm before we ever roasted our first bean!
FAF and the Croce family are well-known for championing sustainability in their region of Mococa. Their Bob-o-link project connects local producers into a larger network so they can share information about ecological farming practices and have support in going fully organic. The project protects local mountain springs, creates green corridors along the waterways, reduces the use of toxins, and supports reforestation.
Bob-o-link coffees are named after a transcontinental bird that migrates every year from the midwest in North America all the way to the southeast of South America. FAF chose this name because they want people to “think beyond our borders” when it comes to farming practices. Thankfully, FAF and the Croce Family are incentivizing and supporting farmers in creating a healthy environment that supports both people and Bobolinks.
This is a Bob-o-link coffee from Serro dos Ciganos. It's a natural Catuaí grown at an elevation of 1,200-1,350 MASL. It's a lovely, balanced cup that sips well, one after another.
