This Brazil comes to us from our friends at FAF in São Paulo, Brazil. Produced by Cristiano Dos Santos at the Sitio Canelá farm in Mococa.
The Serra do Cigano Valley and wetmill sits in the mountains bordering the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Located in the municipality of Caconde, it is an important watershed contributing to the Rio Pardo river from the natural springs that rise on the Bobolink farms of Serra do Cigano Mountains. The name, which means the Gypsy Valley, arose in the 19th century when the valley was used as a camp for the travelling people of the area.
The Bob-o-link project is a network of farmers that share information about ecological farming practices while striving to become fully organic. The project has made progress in reforestation efforts in their area and continues empowering many local farmers.
We feature a Brazil coffee in our offerings every year and this one is our favorite so far!
