Aleta Wendo is a newly founded coffee growing district in the Sidama region, located in South Central Plateau, around 200 miles from Addis Ababa. Kerchanshe Trading established a coffee processing site in 2021, and have been collecting ripe cherries from a group of 397 local producers ever since. 

The district of Aleta Wendo is characterized by high altitude(1,700-2,500 MASL), and unique weather conditions: the region has both a short and a long rainy season. 

The producers grow coffee under the canopies of large legume shade trees. The coffee, together with fruit trees, including the Enset – a false banana and staple food eaten only by the local community – form a complex agroforestry system. 

This is a washed coffee, dried on raised beds.  A very clean and delicate cup!
