Ethiopia / Shakiso
This coffee was produced by smallholder farmers from the village of Shakiso located in the Guji zone of Ethiopia. “Smallholder” refers to the size of the respective lots of coffee ready for export (for this coffee, each farmer grows no more than one hectare). The village of Shakiso is also famed for its gold and tantalum mining industries.
This lot is comprised of Grade 1 heirloom varieties grown at 1900-2200 MASL. This coffee is fully washed, fermented for 24-48 hours and then dried on raised African beds.
We taste dried fruits, peach, limeade and bergamot. This is a very clean and balanced coffee.
