Sumatra / Pasaman Barat
Located in the western part of Sumatra, mount Talamau is the highest mountain in the area rising 2,983 meters above sea level. This breathtaking area is brimming with fresh water lakes and waterfalls and is a popular outdoor excursion destination. What is now an inactive volcano flourishes with the best coffee production in Western Sumatra. Only recently have the local producers begun to promote their coffees at gatherings in Pasaman Barat with the hopes of gaining international recognition, although all of the area coffee plantations date back to the Dutch colonial era. We love having the opportunity to offer a second Sumatran in our coffee lineup and we’re sure that you’re going to love it.
We taste dried figs and orange zest upfront with a very thick and syrupy body. The coffee has some of the subtle earthy tones one would expect from a Sumatra but is balanced out with fruit and sweetness.
