Best of Cauca Series - 2 Coffees
We're quickly approaching the end of the two auction lots we won at the Cauca Best Cup 3rd Edition. The auction featured contest winning coffees and was cosponsored by Café Imports and Banexport and hosted at the FNC in Popayán, Colombia. In its third year, the contest received 766 submissions and brought more than 30 coffee tasters from around the world. Repetition Coffee won the fourth and eleventh placing lots in a live auction. Cauca Best Cup #4 comes to us from producer Luis Hernando Rojas from Finca El Islote. Luis submitted this 3 bag micro-lot to the 2016 Cauca Best Cup auction placing fourth out of 766 regional coffee submissions. Finca El Islote is situated in Inza de Pedregal de Cauca in Colombia. The coffee was grown at an altitude of 1,920 masl. It is a triple washed Castillo.
Cauca Best Cup #11 comes to us from producer Eduardo Muñoz from Finca El Eucalipta. This 10 bag micro-lot placed 11th out of 766 submissions at the 2016 Cauca Best Cup in Colombia. Finca El Eucalipta is situated in the municipality of El Tambo in Cauca at an approximate altitude of 1,800 masl. The coffee is comprised of Castillo and Colombia varietals. It was washed, fermented for 12 hours and solar dried.
