The fossil, dubbed Ardi, is 4.4 million years old and was unearthed in Ethiopia’s Great Rift \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eValley, which is where the Guji Zone lies and this coffee is grown.  The name \u003cem\u003eArdipithecus ramidus \u003c\/em\u003e(\u003cem\u003e‘ramid’\u003c\/em\u003e means ‘root’ in the Afar language of Ethiopia and refers to the closeness of this new species to the roots of humanity, while ‘\u003cem\u003eArdi’ \u003c\/em\u003emeans ‘ground’ or ‘floor’).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e It is believed the species could be a link between modern humans and our distant ancestors.
