Ethiopia / Layo Taraga
This "Special Prep" Ethiopia comes to us from various smallholder farmers all delivering to Layo Taraga washing station in the Haro Wachu town of the Uraga District of Guji. Each farmer owns approximately 1/2 hectare of land and keep their varieties separated. This naturally processed Grade 1 lot is a selection of Bourbon beans. It was grown at an altitude of 1,950 - 2,000 MASL.
This is a really balanced cup with notes of berry jam and cherries over a round, syrupy body of vanilla and dark chocolate.
We also carry the washed version of this coffee. For a true process tasting experience, try this naturally processed Layo Taraga next to the Ethiopia Uraga (also from Layo Taraga). It's the same bean, different process.
