We're excited to be working with our friends at Catalyst Trade on one of their first offerings from Kenya. This washed processed coffee comes from the town of Ndimaini in the Nyeri region of Central Kenya. 1250 cooperative members of the Ndimaini Factory hand-pick each cherry rooted deep in rich red volcanic soil.
The first thing that comes to mind when looking for Kenyan coffee is acidity. Most of the time coffees from other origins tend to have a bright and citric acidity, but what makes offerings from Kenya special is a more complex herbaceous quality. This coffee's acidity stood out on the cupping table with notes of blackberry jam, honeysuckle, and port wine. This is exactly what we are looking for from a Kenya offering, and we hope you enjoy this complex and unique coffee as well!
