This spooky season, Opera On Tap - Kansas City and Repetition Coffee join forces to resurrect Genaro Méndez's chilling vision of Gian Carlo Menotti's one-hour opera, The Medium. In a small apartment somewhere in a big city, teenage Monica and her speechless companion Toby are on the verge of falling in love. Monica's alcoholic mother, Baba, conducts seances out of the family's home to support them. When Baba feels a ghostly hand grip her throat mid-session, she begins to lose her grip on reality. Her insistence on blaming her ward, Toby, leads to dire consequences for all.
