This washed coffee is grown at 1800 MASL in the mountainous Cajamarca region of Peru, home of Cooperativa Sol y Cafe. It is an FTO Certified offering.
The cooperative was established in 2008 and includes approximately 800 small-holder farmers who work using an agroforestry system that supports the generation and conservation of organic matter, shade management and an environment well-suited to coffee production. Many of the farmers also produce cacao and other fruits due to the exceptional growing conditions.
This blend of Catimor, Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon varieties results in a cup with notes of mellow clove, fresh fruits, and a touch of wine-like acidity.
