Sol y Café is an accomplished co-op of nearly 800 individual small-holder farmers established in 2008 in the region of Cajamarca. They won the 2021 Golden Cup quality competition in Peru and have since placed in the top 3 more times.
The Cajamarca region is a semi-dry, semi-cold, tropical highland with fertile soil and steep Andean elevations - perfect for coffee production! Sol y Café are certified Fair Trade Organic and are produced on land that falls under an agroforestry system which further supports generating and conserving organic matter, managing shade, and creating an environment that supports exceptional coffee production.
Peru is a unique in that it exports the highest percentage of certified-organic coffee in the world, hosting nearly 90,000 hectares of certified organic coffee farms. This coffee is fully washed and depulped in the same day.
We’re excited to offer another fantastic Fair Trade Organic offering from Peru, and a cup that embodies summer with bright, juicy notes. Definitely an offering worth trying on ice!
