The Women Coffee project with Lima Coffees was created to recognize and empower women farmers and their families in northern Peru by paying a premium directly to women for their coffee. Today, 110 families are part of the program, with elected representatives guiding the group in Chirinos and Ihuamaca. The initiative is designed not only to reward women’s labor but also to inspire future generations to build sustainable lives through coffee and leadership in their communities.
Premium funds are reinvested into programs for women’s empowerment, leadership development, savings, investment, and gender equality. This project combines a passion for top-quality specialty coffee with a commitment to social progress. By strengthening women’s roles in farming and decision-making, Lima Coffees is helping create both exceptional cups and more resilient communities.
