Our relationship with FAF Farms in Brazil dates back to our first days in roasting. We were exploring FAF, the Croce family farm, before we even roasted our first bean!
FAF and the Croce Family are well known for championing the cause of sustainability in their region of Mococa. The Bob-o-link project has connected local producers into a network that share information about ecological farming practices while striving to become fully organic. The project has made progress in reforestation efforts in their area, and they continue to empower local producers.
The Bob-o-link is a transcontinental migratory bird that FAF has chosen as a symbol "to bring all those in the supply chain closer together - without borders." If you're in Brazil at the right time of the year, you'll see them on the farms!
This is a Bob-o-link coffee from Serro dos Ciganos. It's a natural Catuaí grown at an elevation of 1,200-1,350 MASL. It's a lovely, balanced cup that sips well, one after another.
