Sourced from the iconic Yirgacheffe region of southern Ethiopia—one of the most celebrated and historically significant coffee origins in the world—this lot comes from the Idido Washing Station as part of the Malebo Project, a high quality coffee selection program. Yirgacheffe’s high elevations, dense vegetation, and long-standing tradition of smallholder, organically-minded coffee cultivation have made the region well known for its incredible quality, and SUPER tasty lots.
For the Malebo Project, only Grade 1 heirloom coffees are carefully separated and processed as Idido’s sole washed offering of the season, undergoing meticulous fermentation, washing, and extended raised-bed drying with continuous hand-sorting before resting prior to milling. Beyond quality, the project is rooted in community investment: a portion of each pound sold supports the Ardent Children Center, a local orphanage providing food, healthcare, education, and a safe environment for children—ensuring this coffee’s impact extends well beyond the cup.
