The Major Tom Dark Roast is the result of a collaboration with Bauman's Cedar Valley Farm and LUGEF Cooperative, farming in Masaka, Uganda. In 2018, our green-buyer visited the farm in Uganda, forming a connection and relationship to the families who grow this delicious coffee. We blend this Ugandan bean with one from East Timor, a formerly Portuguese and Indonesian colony that gained independence in 2002. During occupation, coffee production suffered greatly, but is now the second biggest export in the country. Almost one third of Timorese households are coffee producers, and much of it is grown organically in the rich mountainous soil of the region.
This coffee is offered as the endless diner cup at one of our favorite restaurants in Lawrence, Ladybird Diner! A traditional dark roast, this cup is great alongside breakfast, or for anyone who prefers a deeper, darker drink.
